Suzanne Veiga is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of Alan Harris and Paul Katz.  She also holds MM and DMA degrees from the University of Kentucky in cello performance, with a secondary emphasis in music theory and conducting.  A seasoned cellist, she has held positions with the South Bend Symphony, La Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal de Caracas (in Venezuela), and the Lexington Philharmonic.  One of her first loves is chamber music, and she performed and toured with the Giocoso Trio, Corona String Quartet, Fontana Trio, Quadrant Ensemble and the Amaranth Quartet.  Suzanne’s experience as an educator includes faculty positions at El Colegio Emil Friedman (Venezuela), the University of Kentucky, Centre College, Transylvania University, and Asbury College.  Suzanne has always placed a high priority on private cello instruction, and has maintained an active studio for over 25 years.  Her students have won numerous competitions, and are currently enjoying the cello in both professional capacities and as active lovers of music.  She is married to Lou Veiga, Director of Development at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and is the mother of two beloved sons, Daniel and Michael.
