Mary AllyeB Purtle

Mary AllyeB Purtle plays oboe with the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium and is the principal English Horn for the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra. She also freelances on flute in settings such as musical theatre, orchestras, chamber music and solo engagements. Many of her performances have been broadcast on both radio and TV and she has recorded with independent artists in the area. Mary AllyeB has been a clinician and adjudicator and lectured at Presbyterian College and North Greenville University. Her reputation as a woodwinds teacher precedes her with the numerous accomplishments of her students including positions as soloists, competition and scholarship winners and positions in All-State Band and Orchestra. Mary AllyeB is married to Jeff Purtle and the proud mother of their daughter Jonimarie Fuhong Purtle. Mary AllyeB is also a very active church member at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church (PCA).
